Creighton Blackwell
Creighton P. Blackwell is an accomplished, award-winning executive and community advocate with more than 25 years of leadership experience on both the local and national level. He currently serves as the Chief Community & Public Affairs Officer at Coastal Credit Union after previously holding the positions of Vice President of Retail Banking and Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Community Engagement. Prior to Coastal, Creighton held several senior leadership roles at RBC Bank, including U.S. Director of Sales Communications and Marketing, Community Development Specialist, Creator and Managing Director of Business Banking Strategy, and Managing Director of the Sales Solutions Center for North America. Throughout his career, he has become known for his innovative leadership, strategic growth initiatives, and commitment to creating meaningful impact through business and community engagement.
Beyond his corporate success, Creighton has dedicated decades to nonprofit leadership, financial education, and community development across North Carolina. He currently serves in leadership roles with organizations including the North Carolina Council on Economic Education, the Partnership for a Sustainable Community Foundation, and the Morrisville Innovation Foundation, while also serving on numerous executive and advisory boards throughout the region. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the North Carolina School of Banking, Leadership North Carolina, and Stanford Business School’s Executive Innovation program, Creighton is widely recognized for advancing financial literacy, sustainability, and community engagement initiatives. His work has earned him honors including the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association’s Community Impact Award, the Triangle Business Journal Corporate Philanthropy Award, Cary Magazine’s Movers and Shakers recognition, and ESPN Radio’s Salute to Heroes Honoree. He is also a respected public speaker, mentor, and advocate for sustainable community growth who enjoys coaching youth sports and spending time with his wife and three children.
