Kid’s Gaming Nights!
Future Fest Connect, the Body Armor State Games, and the Hayti Heritage Center have come together with a shared realization: Downtown Durham is missing dedicated spaces just for kids. We’re here to change that.
Kid’s Gaming Nights are designed to give young people a safe, welcoming place to connect, have fun, and simply be kids. Not every child is drawn to traditional activities like basketball, baseball, track, swimming, or theater—and that’s okay. Today, gaming is one of the most popular ways kids engage, learn, and socialize. In fact, studies show that over 80% of Gen Alpha plays video games, and 64% of Americans are gamers. That number is only growing—so why not embrace it as a powerful tool for community and creativity?
Hosted every Wednesday from 3pm - 7pm at the Hayti Heritage Center starting June 10th, these events will feature:
5 PlayStation 5 consoles
4 Nintendo Switch systems
A fun, social environment to play with friends and meet new ones
Food available for attendees
A spotlight on a local independent game developer, giving kids a chance to play new games and learn how they’re made
Kid’s Gaming Nights are more than just play—they’re about inspiration, connection, and opportunity.
And the best part? It’s completely FREE.
Come out, bring your friends, and be part of something special.
Future Fest Connect isn’t here to make an expo, we are here to make lasting change!
